Ballast Portfolio The contemporary architecture of Ballast House on the Sea Ranch has been given warmth and human scale with color, texture, and sophisticated whimsy. Taking cues from the dramatic exterior landscape, a continuous ceiling mural of moving clouds brings the energy of windswept cypress trees into the upstairs master suite and great room; a large architectural column has been transformed into a ocean side celestial fantasy with flying sea horses; and structurally curved walls have been pigmented in powerful hues of purple and berry. Faux finished walls with hand-painted details, and carefully selected key furnishings complete an environment that is at once both vibrant and complimentary to the natural setting.
